Hialeah is a city that belongs to the County of Miami-Dade, with a population of about 225,000 people. It is the sixth largest city in the State of Florida.

Throughout its history, Hialeah became home for many Cubans fleeing from Cuba, and today can be considered the city with the most amount of Cubans in all of the United States. 74% percent of Hialeah are Cubans, which is anything but great, especially considering the Culture value that it brings to that city. At the same time, Hialeah is home of the largest Spanish speaking population in all of the country.
Hialeah, decades ago, had a very successful industrial background. It may not look like it now, but this city was home for many manufacturing plants. They did disappear, but new businesses have helped bounce back its local economy.

It is not hard at all to get there, especially if you are heading south on I-95, or going west then south on the Palmetto. Now why would you go there? First of all, to find some of the best coffee this country has to offer. Worth getting stuck on traffic on the Palmetto? Tough question. The Palmetto makes it hard to decide on anything. But if it’s a Saturday, or a Sunday, then yes, by all means, take the Palmetto and drive around Hialeah. You will find many places to try your coffee. The list is too long to place here. You can also get to Hialeah by taking I-95, like I previously mentioned. Just get off anywhere between North Miami and 94th Street, and just head west. If you start seeing one coffee shop after another, then you know you have arrived.
Hialeah is not just about Cuban coffee of course. Many companies have moved to Hialeah throughout the past decade or so. This includes Telemundo, the second largest TV network in the US. This city is truly significant when it comes to Business. It is a very important commerce center in the Miami-Dade County. In it you will find the Westland Mall, along with many of your common store brands such as Walmart, Home Depot, Macy’s, Lowe’s, Best Buy and Target. Not to mention its numerous family style businesses all over the place, competing with those big names listed above. Some of these businesses are franchises, such as IHOP, Fuddruckers, Chilli’s, McDonald’s, etc.

Being realistic, Hialeah can’t offer much to a tourist coming down to South Florida. At the same time, to a resident, you’d be surprised at how much Hialeah can offer when it comes to services.
